Women’s Health Victoria (WHV) is a state-wide women’s health promotion, advocacy and support service with a proud history of over 25 years. We are an independent, feminist, not-for-profit organisation. We advocate and build system capacity for a gendered approach to health that reduces inequalities and improves health outcomes for women.

Counterpart is a service of WHV. Counterpart connects, supports and informs Victorian women with breast or a gynecological cancer. Counterpart's trained and experienced Peer Support Volunteers understanding what it is like to be a woman with cancer and provide a 'listening ear' and practical and emotional support to other women with cancer. Counterpart also connects women to information and each other through on-line events and face-to-face presentations, when it is safe to do so.

Following an evaluation of the service it has been the aim of Counterpart to extend these unique and valuable services to all Victorian women with any cancer.

The role

We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced project development professional to develop a pathway for all Victorian women with cancer to have access to Counterpart's services. By using the existing model of service delivery we need someone to scope out an extension of Counterpart services to all Victorian women with cancer.

By examining and talking with the Victorian cancer survivorship and supportive care community, this role will develop a comprehensive, realistic and achievable plan for an expansion of services across all areas of Counterpart's activities including volunteers, communication and funding.

Our volunteer and staff teams are committed and dedicated women who currently provide nonjudgmental, free and evidence-based support and information to Victorian women with breast or a gynaecological cancer.

This is a short term, focused project that will be used to advocate for service expansion. There is flexibility in days/hours and location for this role.
