    About the role

    Women’s Health Victoria (WHV) is looking for a Senior Policy and Health Promotion Officer toplay a senior role in an influential and dynamic policy, research, advocacy and health promotion team within a leading women’s health organisation.

    This full-time ongoing position will be responsible for leading research, knowledge translation and policy and advocacy activities across WHV’s priority areas including sexual and reproductive health, the prevention of violence against women, mental health and body image, and women’s equality.

    Specifically, the role will lead the development of high quality, evidence-based submissions and research papers and requires the ability to identify strategic or innovative opportunities to improve women’s health and wellbeing. The role also includes supervision of a small but highly productive policy and data team.

    Women’s Health Victoria (WHV) is an independent, state-wide women’s health promotion, advocacy and support service. We are an independent, feminist, not-for-profit organisation.

    About the role

    WHV seeks an accountant who will Manage/Co-ordinate a range of financial functions to support the effective financial management of Women’s Health Victoria and it’s legislative and reporting requirements. The role is diverse and covers multiple facets of the finance function.

    Responsibilities of the role include: 

    • Process of accounts payable/accounts receivable;
    • Preparation and processing of fortnightly payroll;
    • Reconciliation, preparation and reporting of BAS, Superannuation, Long Service Leave and other legal requirements;
    • Completing month end journals and reconciliation of all ledger accounts e.g bank reconciliations, debtors, creditors, accruals, prepayments, payroll, revenue etc.;
    • Preparation and analysis of monthly programme reporting to the managers;
    • Preparation and analysis of bi- monthly reports to the Finance and Risk Committee and the Board;
    • Assist in the co-ordination of the annual budget;
    • Maintain review and update financial policies and procedures as required by legislation or other requirements;
    • Identify and manage risk as part of the quality assurance framework in relation to the finance function;
    • Undertake a review of the current accounting system with a view to either enhance it or change it.

    You will have: 

    • Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, CPA/CA or working towards;
    • Strong IT skills, in particular MYOB, MS Office software, particularly Word and Excel, data collection system; Desirable but not mandatory experience in operating Xero and experience in the implementation of Xero software;
    • Demonstrated experience in end to end payroll function;
    • Demonstrated experience in the preparation of monthly financial reporting to Board level;
    • Flexibility to respond to short and long term changing needs;
    • Strong analytical and problem solving skills with the ability to provide resolution to issues;
    • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing deadlines, whilst maintaining accuracy and attention to detail and meeting deadlines;
    • Experience working effectively within a team environment;

    We talk to people about contraception, pregnancy options (including abortion) and sexual health, connecting people with the services they need. We are a free, confidential, non-judgemental, pro-choice service. We offer a phone and online service.

    About the role

    This is a casual pool role. In this role you will provide information and referral pathways to women, their support people and health professionals in relation to contraception, pregnancy options (including abortion) and sexual health.  Limited and variable hours available between 10am-4pm  Monday to Friday.

    About you

    We are seeking a motivated and compassionate person with a strong commitment to feminist and pro-choice principles. Experience working in a health or community setting is essential.

    Salary

    This is a casual role. The position is classified as a Level 2 and attracts a salary of $63,725 per annum pro rata plus casual loading WHV Enterprise Agreement 2018 conditions and salary apply. In addition, employer superannuation guarantee and access to salary packaging (Conditions may apply).

    Women’s Health Victoria (WHV) is seeking a competent and dynamic Project Support Officer to assist with health promotion and workforce development activities, including support for training, event management and communications.

    You will have excellent organisational skills, ability to manage competing priorities and timelines, and demonstrated skills in coordination of events. You will have experience using Microsoft Office software and social media in a work context. You will work effectively in a team, be adaptable to change and be willing and able to learn new skills quickly.

    Experience in health promotion or public health will be an advantage, as will experience using digital tools and applications. This role would suit a health promotion or public health graduate or an experienced project officer working in a health education environment.

    This role is a part-time (0.8EFT) fixed term until 30 June 2020.

    Women’s Health Victoria is seeking a highly motivated and experienced health professional to join the 1800 My Options team to build and strengthen relationships and partnerships across various stakeholder groups in the sexual and reproductive health sector.

    This role will suit an experienced project manager with expertise in the health sector, who is committed to improving equity of access to sexual and reproductive health information and services for Victorian women. The successful candidate will have highly developed interpersonal, networking and collaboration skills and a track record in the delivery of health projects in complex and sensitive environments. This project will work closely and collaboratively with multiple levels of the healthcare system including GP’s and health professionals in the sexual and reproductive, women’s and community health sectors as well as peak bodies and women themselves, incorporating significant outreach and a co-design approach to information and resources.

    1800 My Options is a new service, established in March 2018, that has been funded under the State Government Women’s Sexual and Reproductive Health Strategy (2017-2020). 1800 My Options aims to ensure that all Victorian women – no matter where they live – have access to the information and services they require to maximise their sexual and reproductive health care outcomes. The Stakeholder Engagement Coordinator will play a key role in ensuring that this aim can be achieved by working with women and the wider healthcare system to build stakeholder relationships, drive health literacy initiatives, and position 1800 My Options as a key service within the healthcare system, and the community.

    This role is 0.6EFT (days to be negotiated, travel within Victoria required), fixed term for 12 months.
