International Safe Abortion Day 2021

Make Unsafe Abortion History: Highlighting lived experiences in a discussion of cultural, social, spiritual and psychological aspects of what makes abortion care safe.

What does safe abortion care mean to people who have accessed abortion services in Australia? How does social, cultural, psychological and spiritual safety impact people’s abortion experiences? What can health services and the community do to make unsafe abortion history?

At this event a panel of individuals with lived experience of abortion will discuss their stories of social, cultural, psychological and spiritual safety in abortion with Dr Paddy Moore and Dr Nisha Khot.

This is an Australia-wide event marking World Safe Abortion Day, exploring what cultural, psychological, spiritual and social safety in abortion care means in the Australian context.

Join 1800 My Options, Children by Choice, The Royal Women's Hospital, Women’s Health Queensland, South Australian Abortion Action Coalition, Women’s Health Tasmania, SPHERE and Marie Stopes Australia to learn more about what makes services safe for all abortion seekers.
