A Unique Opportunity to Shape Gender in Australian Education

Women’s Health Victoria and partners are hosting a forum to explore how to put gender equity work into practice, which will inform the development of a Course in Gender Equity.

The landmark course will comprise a set of nationally accredited gender equity units intended to form part of a broad range of existing vocational education (VET) training packages. It aims to equip workforces across Australia with the skills and knowledge for applying a gender lens in their work and in their workplace.

Gender equity work contributes to workplace compliance, enhances organisational performance and promotes a culture of wellbeing and inclusion in which all workers can thrive. It also ensures that all members of the community are given an opportunity to develop to their full potential.

The Course in Gender Equity is a unique opportunity to build capacity in the Australian workforce to be able to effectively do gender equity work. For this reason we are seeking input from workplaces and practitioners to ensure the units comprise effective gender equity strategies that are relevant to employers and communities.

  • Introduction and background to the course.
