Promoting Gender Equity in the Workplace


This three hour interactive workshop introduces learners to key concepts around gender equality and its impact in the workplace. It explores gender, gender inequality, unconscious bias and workplace tools and strategies to promote gender equity in the workplace. 

This workshop is designed for participants working in a range of roles within a workplace – including executives, managers, HR staff, and staff working in equity, diversity and inclusion – who are interested in creating equal, safe and respectful workplaces.


Workshop objectives:

At the conclusion of this workshop, participants will have:

  • An increased understanding of gender inequality
  • An increased understanding of what tools can be used to promote gender equity in the workplace
  • Increased knowledge of resistance and how to manage this to progress gender equity within the workplace
  • The confidence to drive change to create a gender equal workplace

    Workshop facilitator:

    Megan Bugden is the health promotion officer and training coordinator at Women’s Health Victoria. Megan is a PhD candidate with a wealth of academic and practical experience in the design and delivery of training to prevent violence against women and promote gender equality. 

    Who should attend?

    This workshop is designed for professionals working in a range of areas including health promotion, social policy, community development, health and support services, women’s health, community health and local and state government who are committed to creating equal, safe and respectful workplaces.
